Noye’s Fludde 2015 LP-Orchestre de Picardie P7-Melbourn Village College Music 

The implementation of the opera "Noye's Fludde op.59" by Benjamin Britten involves 6 partners of the ACT network.

Orchestre de Picardie will perform with all levels of young musicians. The chorus is also composed of pupils and adolescent non-professional singers. These groups come mostly from Melbourn Village College and Gateway Learning Community. The other pupils will come from local schools and music schools on both side of the Channel. Gateway Learning Community provides also a young stage director. 

Under the tutorship of a professional designer, Royal Opera House Education organises a design exchange project for 5 young designers to visit Amiens and create an  overall costume and prop design feel. Students from  University for the Creative Arts support a related light drawing "light tag" performance as developed by artist Tine Bech (voir www.tinebech.com) and design the communication tools.

Upgrade training in ROH Production House 2015 P8-Royal Opera House All partners  

Royal Opera House Education proposes “A day in the heart of the ROH Production House in Purfleet” a programme of guided tours and workshops open to all technical and managerial staff of both French and English partners as part of their lifelong learning scheme.

ACT inspired piece 2015 P7-Melbourn Village College All partners Artistic performances 

Melbourn Village College students in collaboration with the community and all partners will devise an original piece for performance to celebrate the ACT project at its end in March 2015.

The piece will incorporate music, dance, theatre, poetry, image and text work drawing inspiration from project past ACT performances and activities, and will celebrate the value of cross border collaboration. The closing event will also serve to share lessons learnt across the project and explore future collaborative opportunities and legacy work.

A collective commemorative musical commission 2015 LP-Orchestre de Picardie P6-Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne Music 

To pay tribute to all military and civilian victims of the first world conflict, Orchestre de Picardie, Opéra de Rouen Haute Normandie and Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne will collectively commission a piece to a young English composer who will be chosen for purely artistic reasons.

MVC fieldtrips to the Somme 2015 P7-Melbourn Village College LP-Orchestre de Picardie  

Melbourn Village College will use a series of visits to the Somme area in Picardie to introduce and explore aspects of both the intercultural exchange and the events and performances building up to the commemoration of the anniversary of the start of World War I.

Orchestre de Picardie will facilitate links with local museums and sites of interest as well as providing insight into the significant musical and cultural landscape directly and indirectly linked to WW1 in the Somme area.

Southend YMCA will use a fieldtrip to the Somme to introduce aspects of historical and cultural interest as well as the events building up to the commemoration of the centenary of the start of World War I to its participants.

Anthology of WWI poets 2015 P4-ComdePic Brighton Festival Chorus Theatre/Music 

To commemorate the centenary of the 1st World War, Comédie de Picardie will produce a new creative drama performance presenting an anthology of poems dedicated to World War I poets. 

With the cooperation of ACT partners, Comédie de Picardie sees this performance as a set of poems accompanied by instrumental music interspersed with classical songs of the period. Brighton Festival Chorus will assist in finding an English instrumental quartet and a tenor. University for the Creative Arts currently runs a unit called Commission, Collaboration and Community. It will incorporate the delivery of this unit into the project. Students have recently undertaken a WW1 project which will also be incorporated (and enhanced) into the planned outputs. 

This commemorative drama will be performed for in Picardie and be repeated in Brighton.
